Wednesday Update: Oh Yes We Did!

Oh Yes We Did … do episodes of our Game of Books podcast with Five award winning and best-selling authors at Sleuthfest 2019 – Alexia Gordon, T. Jefferson Parker, Tom Straw,  Charles Todd, and Elaine Viets!  Star-struck and honored, Cathi and I had no idea how things would go when they agreed.  Excited and nervous, we couldn’t wait to meet them and pick their brains (not literally although we are thriller writers). Now we have five more Corks and Conversations under our belt and we couldn’t be prouder of ourselves. Bonus is the fact that the authors seemed to have fun as well!  We shared many laughs and a few glasses of wine all the while learning more about the writing world. They are so inspirational and entertaining we could have talked to them for hours if they didn’t have other important things to do … like write the next blockbuster mystery!

Oh Yes We Did … pitch our books to several agents and get some really great feedback on our critiques. Plus we attended so many workshops that will hone our writing skills and prepare us for the world of publishing. Sleuthfest is a one of a kind conference when it comes to warmth and camaraderie in the writing community. Which is good because this Florida girl needs all the warmth she can get while in the air conditioning all day. Hotels down here have excellent air conditioning, I’ll give them that.

Oh Yes We Will … continue on this wild road of blogging and podcasting that we’ve started and are having so much fun with! We will also continue writing mysteries and then rewriting and editing until we get them right. Tenacity is something we learned from T Jefferson Parker. That man has grit and the awards to show for it! You’ll have to listen to his upcoming episode of Corks and Conversation to hear all about it.

So while Cathi headed north to South Dakota and I headed south to Fort Lauderdale, we are still only a phone call away … or a podcast away for all those listening and following our journey.
