Corks and Conversation with Richard Meredith

This week’s Corks and Conversation with Richard Meredith was great fun and insightful!

Richard, Christie, and Cathi all shared a California Petite Syrah, each from a different label.  Richard’s wine had his own book cover on the label.  After this pandemic, if he has any bottles left, Christie and Cathi will have to take a trip to California to give it a try!

Richard Meredith’s new book, The Crow’s Nest, is a high-stakes thriller about two men seeking their own justice against brutal cartel.  After college, Richard worked as a marine scientist and wildlife biologist for the federal government and the private sector. That history colors his novels. He describes how a tuna seiner works, but explained that his knowledge pertaining to the Cartel in his novel came from research, not first hand knowledge during his time on the open waters.

Here’s what Richard had to say on writing  …

“It’s the hardest thing to start, the easiest thing to quit, but so much fun in between.”

Richard also shares his thoughts on working with a small publishing house, Moonshine Cove Publishing, for his second novel, as well as his new quarantine German Shepherd puppy.
