Episode 28 of our Killer Season 2 came out a little late, but hopefully you will find it worth the wait!
We paired Al Pessin‘s debut thriller is Sandblast with Imagery Pinot Noir and a cheese fondue.
Turns out that Christie hasn’t ever made cheese fondue but Cathi is an expert with no less than four fondue pots! So book club will be at her house and she will make a yummy recipe courtesy of Pinch of Yum.
We highly recommend Sandblast for all of you who love thrillers along the lines of Tom Clancy or Daniel Silva. Al may be a debut author but we are expecting him to graduate to a best-selling author! This page-turner is action-packed. Al Pessin has the background to authentically describe the inner workings of the Pentagon and the terrorists in Afghanistan. And we just loved the humanity of his main characters, Bridget Davenport (how’s that for a good name?) and undercover Lieutenant Faraz Abdallah. And guess what? It is the first in a series so you will be able to keep following these interesting characters in books to come.
As all of you, we’ve been dealing with the stress of this pandemic as well as the issues of being home all the time. In more of our crazy small world coincidences, we have faucets leaking in both South Dakota and Florida! And we are dealing with keeping our writing mojo going. So it was really nice to have a great book to read and talk about over a glass of wine. Hope you join us for the fun!
