In this week’s GOBrecs Book Club – The Match & Bloodline episode, we are recommending two best-selling crime fiction books! Have a listen …
We chose two hot crime fiction books for July! Written by two of our favorite and coolest authors!
Cathi chose the match by HARLAN COBEN.
Harlan Coben’s thrillers never disappoint, and The Match is no different! The intersection of Wilde, one of his returning characters, genetic testing, and vengeance make for an outstanding and wild ride. Coben is known for his fast plotting that keeps you turning the pages, characters you really care about, and action on every page. You’ll never see what’s coming in this one!
Order The Match here for you and your friends (indie bookshop.org or Amazon.com). And enjoy it with a Pinot Noir and hoagies, like Cathi suggested!

Christie chose BLOODLINE by JESS LOUREY.
As a long time fan of Jess Lourey and her writing, Christie had no trouble picking this month’s GOBRec – Bloodline. Winner of the best paperback original novel at Thrillerfest 2022, this book didn’t disappoint! Inspired by real events, Lourey’s imagination turned a missing child case into a town filled with some dark and down-right creepy secrets. We follow pregnant journalist, Joan Harken, as she leaves the city for a small Minnesota town to start a new life with the man she loves. Weird things start happening, or maybe she’s imagining it all. The story draws you in so deep you won’t be able to stop reading until you find out the truth!
Order BLOODLINE here (indie bookshop.org or Amazon.com). And take Christie’s suggestion and pair it with a Rosé (harkening back to the “white zin” of the 70s) and a comforting casserole made with soup and crushed chips on top. Did we mention the book takes place in the late 60s?
